Agility classes follow a skills-based progression system, meaning you only advance to the next level after mastering the current one. The level structure is outlined below:
Covers basic obedience with an eye toward skills needed for agility and helps your dog learn to focus with the distractions of other dogs and people. This course includes the beginnings of basic obedience, body awareness, drive, play and games that build towards agility.
This course builds on the skills developed in Level 1 and serves as the next step in your agility training journey. The focus is on enhancing the foundational skills of body awareness, drive, play, and agility games introduced in Level 1. You will start working with simple agility equipment and learn to maintain attention despite increasing distractions.
This course builds on the skills developed in Levels 1 and 2, introducing sequencing and increasing confidence with agility equipment. The focus will be on groundwork to develop both the dog's and handler's confidence and motivation. You'll learn the correct performance criteria for various agility obstacles, and obstacle sequencing will be introduced along with the handling skills needed to support your dog.
Handler/dog teams will be sequencing 3-5 obstacles. Building confidence and skills on all obstacles. Learning the foundations to weaves and contacts. Teams will learn baisic handling skills and learn how to navigate courses.
Handler/dog teams must be sequencing 6-8 obstacles. Proficient on all obstacles however may still be proofing weaves and contacts. Teams will learn front crosses, blind crosses, serps, backsides, and much more. Fun classes that will build you and your dog's confidence as you build your skills together.
Handler/dog teams must be able to sequence advanced level courses, up to 16 obstacles. Proficient on all obstacles including weaves and contacts. Teams will learn more advanced handling, understanding the fastest path, obstacle commitment, and how to drive lines.
Handler/dog teams are competing/training at Excellent/Master level; should have familiarity with or competing using advanced handling techniques such as backsides, threadles etc. Teams will work on choosing best path, reading lines and refining handling.
